please don't leave me

mark bittman announced yesterday that he was ending his column, the minimalist, which i've written about here before.

i. am. devastated.

so devastated, in fact, that I posted a public lament on nytimes.com.

how will i go on??? his cheeky humor, his cheesy intros, his simple and delicious recipes -- i will miss watching his videos on lazy saturday mornings.

thankfully, there is the entire archive of his recipes and videos. Tonight I make his braised short ribs, as recommended by his videographer/producer. I'll try to post photos sometime soon.
