As much as I post about shoes and cameras and whatnot, I know that stuff is just stuff and that's all there is to it.

But people matter -- people should be treasured.

picture perfect

Anyone can buy themselves an expensive digital SLR and take macro shots of objects while using autofocus. ANYONE. Trust me, I know -- because I was one of those people. In the end, I realized that I was not worthy of such a machine and it was going to be better used by someone who actually knew what they were doing.

Here are two point-and-shoots that I'm seriously considering, particularly in anticipation for my Jordan trip in October:

The lumix is pricier, but the leica lens and ability to switch out for various lens sizes is pretty tempting. Some friends have the Canon, however, and their photos are truly magnificent.

I got me some new shoes. Wahoo.

I wore them to Heather's wedding (as seen below) but I think they could be worn pretty casually too, like with jeans, white t-shirt, and some jewelry.

Uno left this morning. I am sad :(

left my heart in minneapolis

I witnessed the most beautiful wedding ever this past weekend. My dear friends Heather and Brian tied the knot under beautiful sunshine and trees, in the presence of their loved ones. I'll post some photos of my own later (and maybe even a video of the groom's bluegrass band!), but here are some photos that their talented photographer, Scott Streble, took.

Doesn't it look like the perfect day? Well it was. Perfect weather. Perfect dress. Perfect venue. Perfect couple. Absolutely perfect.

Speaking of perfect ... many thanks to my near-perfect beau for the opportunity to go to this wedding. If it weren't for you, I most certainly would have missed one of the best weddings of my life. Forever indebted to you.

Uno and I spent Sunday afternoon painting in Meridian Hill Park. I painted a landscape. Uno painted our shoes. It is very obvious who got the art genes in our family.

Uno and I spent a really lovely weekend together. We enjoyed a Nats game (we won! true underdog win, it was incredible), chicken kabobs, painting in the park, and fireworks from my balcony. We chickened out of going down to the mall -- mostly because Uno was too tired :) That's alright though. Low key is the Choi way.

Uno arrived at BWI last night at 12:30 a.m. Which meant, after driving back to DC, feeding her, and washing up, I didn't get to bed until around 2:30. I got up to go to work this morning while she remained in bed.

It's worth it though. My sister's da bomb.
Tonight: Jazz in the Park, a light dinner, and off to watch Cyrus.
